To mark my 100th Blog Post, I've decided to look back at the things I've blogged about over the course of the last 3 years...
Back in September 2009 I started this blog, a fresh faced 18 year old who had spent the last year at Chelsea College of Art & Design on a Foundation course, and just about to begin 3 years refining my practice at Slade School of Fine Art.
I threw myself straight into studio life, and here is the post of the first things I made...
One blogging highlight was in my first year, where I spent a week making paintings in the windows of Heal's store on Tottenham Court Road, each day I posted pictures of the work I made and the people I met. Here is a post from the final couple of days, with a wall full of paintings and drawings...
At the end of my first year I made two paintings which, even though I am making very different work now, I still enjoy looking at...
During my second year, I began my discovery of clay as a medium and learnt a lot of new skills, creating my first ceramic pieces...
I went on to study 2 terms of evening classes in ceramics at City & Islington College. I brought home a lot of dodgy looking, lopsided pottery and gave it to my mum and nan (lucky them!)...
Another skill I've learned and developed is knitting! I've blogged about many of the projects I've completed, here are a couple I'm particularly proud of...
Being an art student, I looked at a lot of art, one of my most popular posts was my round up of highlights at Frieze in 2011...
I also took on a new evening class to unleash my inner minx...
It isn't all art and evening classes though, this post in particular means an awful lot to me and I put my whole heart into writing it. Reflecting on the love I have for my siblings...
One of my most exciting posts was sharing the adventures I had during my week away to Oaxaca, Mexico for The Day of the Dead festival...
Then, back in January of this year, the reality of final year kicked in with a big critique of all the graduating BA/BFA student's work...
I was given my first exhibition opportunity with UCL Art Museum...
And finally, after a whirlwind 3 years of experiences and discoveries, I had my degree show and finished my studies at Slade...
So there you have it! There have been so many more great things I've blogged about, so do search the site and look at what I got up to, but for now I am excited for my future blogging adventures. Thank you for following all that I've been up to, I do work hard to try and make each post as interesting as I can!
Here's to another 100 posts!
