I've been a fairly busy chica with a few updates to share!
"So, how's life post-degree?" I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you that it's been plodding along fairly smoothly. It's certainly not easy trying to find your feet, but I'm ever so organised and resourceful, I began a vigorous job hunt which after a month or so eventually paid off!
I'm now currently working in the new exhibition of Elaine Sturtevant's work at the Serpentine Gallery! (Click here for info)
It's a lovely place to work, especially in the amazing sunshine we've been having. I'm really enjoying being able to talk about her work to visitors and engage in interesting discussions.
Now, onto something rather different. I went to my first ever Pride parade on Saturday! Since coming out and wrestling with my sexuality I have had continued support and guidance from my friends and family, so I really wanted to celebrate that and my individuality - what better way than getting trashed at 4pm in a Soho street party with a sandcastle bucket full of mojito? (This actually happened and I can confirm there is no better way). I ended up reuniting with a darling school friend who I haven't seen for so long, we had a huge catch up and danced the evening away!
Here are some photos from the day...
This is all very lovely and enriching, but I suppose you're wondering what on earth is happening with my art practice. That's the tricky part, I have itching fingers longing to stretch big canvases and make developments from the work I finished my degree with, but I just don't have the space or the funds!
So while I work out the practical solutions to those problems, I've been thinking and writing and reading! Watch this space for theoretical developments, I hope to post some writing and some drawings about my development.
xx
