This is a special knitting project I've been working on for a wonderful man who is on a big charity mission to swim 3km in the sea!
Richard Cudlip is taking part in THIS open water swim in September, so I have knitted him a cosy warm beanie hat to help warm him up after he completes his amazing challenge!
Since it's a sea-swim I thought it only appropriate to design a wave pattern! It's only the second time I've knitted a pattern with 3 colours, and I adapted the pattern to fit Richard's man-sized head (honestly, my head is rather small). It's turned out really well, and I may add a nice bobble to the top to finish it off.
The reasons Richard has decided to take on this challenge can be found on his blog HERE, please do give it a read, he is incredibly honest and inspiring.
He has chosen 3 charities to donate to who have had a personal impact on his life;
You can donate and sponsor him on his Virgin Money page HERE, please show him your support!
I hope to see some wonderful pictures of Richard warming up post-swim in his hat and looking incredibly proud of himself when he SMASHES his swim!
GO RICHARD GO!
UPDATE
Richard's hat now has an adorable bobble! Definitely a nice finishing touch!
