This is it! The beginning of the end of my time here at UCL Slade School of Fine Art.
Today the external examiners came to visit all the final year students, one for each area (painting,sculpture and media). We all got approximately 20 minutes each to discuss the central concerns of our work, how we've found the course, and the plans we have for work to put into the degree show.
I wasn't feeling that nervous this morning, my appointment time was at 2pm, giving me plenty of time to set out my work and go over some key issues I wanted to discuss. However, as my time got closer, the familiar blind panic and butterflies set in - was I going to remember all the references that influenced my work? Will he ask difficult questions?
I had been assured by my friends who had theirs earlier in the day that he's nice as pie and really chilled out...
...and they were right.
The 20 minutes flew by and he was a very experienced, reassuring person. I feel like I said all I needed to say about my work.
So now the focus is on the degree show!
